Until Paint.NET have a more powerful line tool or true brush system, this will be the easiest and fastest method for sharp tapered lines.

I've always wondered how to make a decent 3Dish cone.. never would have thought of mirror over line, let alone in such a manner! Thank you :)

Excellent, though that's pry not the only way to do it, Paint.NET has soooo many features for people to play with, there could be any number of ways to do any one thing..

Yes, there are always many methods, but this might be the easiest, fastest and sharpest method so far. ;)

Thanks for the tutorial! I usually like my method for line art, but perfect circular, sinusoidal, and spiral tapered lines are almost impossible, due to the mathematical nature of Bézier curves. I will definitely be using this in the future. :)

My method: [link] A quick application of the "Basic Anti Alias" Plugin solves the jagged nature of the lines, though I usually don't use it, because I reduce all my line to 33% anyway, and it makes the coloring easier.

Using this tut and Polar transformation (Rect to Polar) can give you a very nice perfect circular tapered line.
I'm glad you like the method! :D

Thanks for the tip! :D

Your tutorial is already giving me some ideas for some energy effects I would like to try.
